MOIRA BROWN: PAINTINGS

The families of these two girls spent every summer together, and the girls were best friends, wrapped around each other every minute. Now they are twelve and "wrapped around each other" begins to mean something different.
As they separate with regret, each into her own adult life, they are still able to let their toes touch.

The Runes on the deep red blanket symbolize the eternal nature of this journey of women, the unknown in their future and the protection of the Grandmothers as they launch into puberty from the innocent love-making of childhood.
